Key Attributes: cleanse, detox, purify, fortify, anticancer, antioxidantwheatgrass shot 150x150 Wheatgrass

Excerpt:

Wheatgrass is considered by many one of nature’s land based superfoods. It provides chlorophyll, amino acids, minerals, vitamins, and enzymes. It derives from the cotyledons (the embryo within the seed of a plant) of the common wheat plant. It is often found in juice bars served alone in one ounce shots (they taste exactly like the smell of fresh cut grass) or mixed in with other fruit or vegetable drinks.

Wheatgrass is often found in superfood concentrate supplements as are barley grass, oat grass, chlorella and spirulina. Many claim wheatgrass has unique curative properties originating from Wheatgrass proponent Schnabel who in the 1940s claimed that wheatgrass’s overall nutritional value to that of ordinary garden vegetables is a ratio of 1:23. While wheatgrass grown on nutrient dense soil is an excellent food and supplement source, it is not a substitute for a broad array of fruits and vegetables daily best achieved by adding superfood concentrates to “juiced” raw fruits and vegetables every morning. This routine will become recognized as the core home based routine to maximize natural health and look much younger than your biological age.

Nutritional Profile

Benefits of the Chlorophyll Found in Wheatgrass

Wheat grass is sometimes used as an alternative cancer therapy. Oxygen can be used to kill cancer cells, and the chlorophyll found in wheatgrass helps the body to build red blood cells, increasing oxygenation to all the body’s cells.

Chlorophyll has been shown to normalize blood pressure by dilating the blood pathways throughout the body.  It also destroys poisonous carbon dioxide, releases free oxygen and promotes higher metabolism.

The chlorophyll found in wheatgrass also has the ability to alkalize the blood and energize the body, increasing endurance during physical exercise.

Cleansing Abilities

The vitamins and carotene found in wheatgrass are effective in destroying and eliminating free radicals to cleanse the body. It also may have the ability to cleanse the blood, organs and gastrointestinal tract.

Wheatgrass is high in saponin, which stimulates and cleanses the lymphatic system.  This cleansing helps to flush the body of thousands of toxins from dead cells, which detoxifies the body quickly and efficiently.

Benefits of the Amino Acids found in Wheatgrass

Amino acids are the building blocks of protein and are essential to growth and cell regeneration. Wheatgrass contains 17 amino acids including arginine, serine, absenisic, lysine, aspartic acid, glycine, alanine, methionine, leucine, tryptophane, phenylalanine, and valine.

The high amino acid content in wheatgrass is also beneficial to the repair and growth of body tissues. They are also essential for blood clotting and cellular repair.

Other benefits of Wheatgrass

Wheatgrass juices and powders may help the body’s immune system to fight against and recover from illnesses.  The vitamins, minerals and amino acids found in this plant work to give the immune system an extra boost.  Wheatgrass also contains several active enzymes which play a major role in breaking down fats, which assists in weight loss.

Other benefits that have been described by consumers of wheatgrass include stronger bones, lower blood pressure, improved digestion and lower cholesterol.
